I was lucky to have learned about the value of distilled water about 25 years ago at an alternative cancer convention. It made a lot of sense that, though we can’t control the quality of our whole environment, 2 things we definitely can control are the foods we eat and the water we drink.

So I bought a Durastil home distiller with a 5 gallon water tank. The water tasted great; friends loved to drink it when they came over. The machine worked quite well, though it was a bit tedious to clean periodically, change the post-filter, sterilize the storage tank, etc. It was also rather noisy to run, so I mostly turned it on at night or when I was going out. Nevertheless, I loved it! As time went on, it started to rattle more and occasionally a few weird things began happening, like little puddles on the floor, though the drinking water quality was always fine. So after 25 years, I decided it had been a good run with this machine, but maybe I should look around for a more modern version that would be good for at least another 20 years.

After investigating pretty much all the models out there, there was no question in my mind that Pure Water was for me, plus there’s a rep for the company in my neighborhood (West Village in NY City) who offered to help me set it up and be there for any issues that might arise. I chose the Midi-Classic because it’s perfect size to fit in the same space as my old one and had the 5 gallon storage tank. It was a piece of cake to install, so quiet I don’t mind running it any time of day. I haven’t had to clean it yet, but compared to my old one, it should be a cinch. Instead of having to arduously remove the post-filter, steam the boiler tank, then scrub and endlessly rinse, I can just add a cleaning powder over night and rinse! Changing the filter is so easy, just unscrew from the back. You can sterilize the storage tank with just a push of the button instead of all the paraphernalia I had to use before. Sebastian, the local rep, attached the Midi seamlessly to my sink pipe, so now I don’t even have to manually fill it!

In short, I’m really thrilled with this machine! So glad I made the change. And, it’s beautiful to look at, sparkling stainless steel — a great conversation piece and a chance to tell everyone about the virtues of distilled water! Why stress your body with all those impurities and chemicals like chlorine, fluoride and who knows what else? Why bother with tedious sink filter systems that don’t produce the Midi’s level of purity? I would highly recommend this Midi-Classic to any one who wants to do their body and mind a big favor.

I have a home system and it has stopped delivering water. Do you have any suggestions as to what may be the problem? I have stopped and started the machine. No water is being delivered to the home faucets.
